World's Deadliest Sharks

Post by Space Godzilla on Sat Jan 01, 2011 5:11 am

Ok, so far, it is a draw between three sharks: the great white, the tiger shark, and the bull shark. Let's see the four.

The great white shark is the most notorious of all, famed for its size and fame. Being made famous in the film Jaws, this is the main reason some people don't go into the water. The great white shark has a very strong bite; ironically, it doesn't have the strongest of all sharks, but we'll get to that later. The great white has the largest teeth of today's sharks, triangular and serrated for tearing through flesh. Now, it's massive size, bulk, and power makes it very dangerous; not to mention that it's not afraid of anything excpet larger of its species and killer whales. The great white, along with the thresher and mako, is one of the only sharks that leap out of the water; however, it's the only one that uses it as a tactic to catch prey. It will sneak below a seal, then lunge up with incredible speed. This impact on a surfer is enough to knock him out, combined with the bite nd teeth, is fatal. However, these sharks prefer cold waters and don't venture inland much. All in all, you should be worried if you're on a surfboard, a bit off-shore, and are alone.

The tiger shark is by far my favorite shark. It is not as famous as the great white, however, it did star in the Mexican Jaws spin-off Tintorera, which takes place in Cancun. The tiger, while doesn't posses the largest maximum size, does posses the largest avergae size; the great white's is 16-18 feet long, while the tiger's is 14-20 feet long. The tiger also has the strongest bite of all sharsk. This is due to the fact that it's teeth, unlike the great white's which are triangular, wide at the base, yet thin at the tip, the tiger's teeth curve inward, making it very strong at all points; they're alos serrated. The tiger is the only shark able to bite through turtle shell. The tiger is more aggressive, and often travels into lagoons at night to feed, as well as traveling through coral reefs, popular tourist attractions. This causes more interaction between tigers and people than great whites. Tigers are also free-roaming; while the great white sticks strictly to coastal waters, the tiger can be found in coastal waters as well as the open ocean. While more fatal attacks have been documented for the great white, the tiger has eaten more of its victims than any other shark. All in all, you should be worried if you're swimming at dusk, dawn, or in tropical waters.

The bull shark is the most aggressive of all. This, as well as it's bulky build, add up to its name. The bull encounters more people than the other candidates; it can be found in water 2 feet deep. The bull shark's averagve length is 8-9 feet, making it the smallest of the dangerous sharks. However, it certainly packs a punch. This shark is very aggressive, and will attack many things in its territory. The bull shark is also often found in murky water, so if below the surface, it may be hard to see them coming. ANother advantage this shark has above the others is that it can live in freshwater. All in all, you should be worried if in murky water where fishermen are working, wether in rivers or the ocean.

You got something wrong there:
You stated that only the Tiger Shark had serrated teeth, but most sharks, including the Bull Shark and the Great White, have serrated teeth.

I said specifically that the great white had triangular, serrated teeth, and as for the bull, I just left out the part about teeth.

Yup, once and I will tell you something, it is over in an instant! It jumped out with a seal that got knocked away to the side and just turned and fell back in. It was literally 2 seconds
